Spieth Hall is named after Dr. Alda May Spieth, a professor of biology who retired as the head of the natural sciences department in 1968.

Spieth Hall is a Freshman Focused Community for men.  Most of the students that live at Spieth Hall are in their first year of college, though other men are welcome. Students that have lived on campus previously must have at least a 2.50 GPA in order to apply for Spieth Hall.
