Hoover Apartments is named after Elizabeth Hoover,
a professor of history who served as a member of the faculty from 1931 until 1972.
Hoover is a Residential Scholars Community with a preference in
housing for sophomores and above that have been awarded Trustee
Scholarships or who are members of the Honors Program. Most of the
students at Hoover Apartments have lived on campus for at least one
year.
Transfer students that have been awarded a Trustee Scholarship may
apply for Hoover Apartments. For the fall semester, transfer students
must apply together with three other
applicants (as a group of four). All four applications must be
received by January 1st.
A new
freshman may only live at Hoover Apartments if he/she is requested as
the preferred roommate by a current UWA student that has been assigned
to Hoover Apartments. For the fall semester, the new freshman must
apply for housing by April 1st.
